My approach

Step 1: Pretend To Have A Plan

Start with requirements, diagrams, and confidence. This confidence usually survives for about ten minutes.

Step 2: Fight The Bugs

Write code. Break code. Fix code. Accidentally break something unrelated. Repeat until the application fears me.

Step 3: Ship And Pray

Deploy to production, stare at logs, refresh seventeen times, and celebrate when nothing catches fire.
